GIVING

The aim of St Columba's Church, Anfield, is to be a community of 'Missionary Disciples: Pointing people to Jesus'. We long to share the Good News of the Gospel in word and deed - by proclamation and loving service to our neighbours. The Church, situated in the heart of Anfield for over eighty years, has always sought to serve the people of this place.

Like all organisations, our parish has suffered greatly as a result of the Coronavirus pandemic; our worship has had to take new forms and our building has had to be closed for several months for the protection of all.

We welcome all to worship, mark the beginning of new life in baptism, help join couples together in marriage and of course commend our loved ones to the mercy of God through our funeral ministry and pastoral care to the bereaved. As a charity, we are completely reliant on donations, fundraising and giving to keep us afloat and during this unprecedented time much of our fundraising activity has naturally had to cease. In addition to our important pastoral work, our parish centre would normally be a hub of community activity: our daily cafe provides hospitality and welcome to all from across the area, we work collaboratively with community partners to host employment days, we serve those in need as a food bank collection point, we welcome the Fifth Walton on the Hill Scout Group, we hold friendship groups through Knit & Natter and host social events to aid community integration and welcome for those who would otherwise be on their own.

The Coronavirus pandemic will mean that we will be unable to host our scheduled Summer Fair, a great community event that raises funds for us. Can we ensure that our ministry to the people of Anfield will continue? We very much hope you will be able to support us by making a donation to support our community work, both now and in the future, when we have much more planned to make a bigger difference to all in our parish.
